Welcome

The ninth International Conference on Chemical Kinetics will take place from 28 June until 2 July  2015, in Ghent, Belgium. Previous versions were in MIT (2011: http://web.mit.edu/icck/) and Seville (2013: www.icck2013.us.es/).

Since its first organization in 1985 in Gaithersburg at the National Institute of Standards the main purpose of the conference was to bring together investigators from universities, research laboratories, and industrial organizations to review progress and problems in theoretical and experimental chemical kinetics. This cross-disciplinary meeting highlights the importance of fundamental understanding of elementary reactions to the full range of chemical investigations. The specific conference focus is on elementary-step kinetics in both the gas phase and in condensed phase.

The meeting provides a unique opportunity to discuss how the same reactive species and reaction motifs manifest under very different reaction conditions (e.g. atmospheric, aqueous, combustion, plasma, in nonaqueous solvents, on surfaces...).In the past, this conference has been limited to homogeneous gas-phase and liquid-phase systems. It is our intention to  broaden its focus to include studies of heterogeneously catalyzed reactions  and polymer reaction engineering.
